“Principles of Innovative Doctoral Training” (IDTP).1 They have been originally formulated as part of a Mapping Exercise on Doctoral Training in Europe in 2011 by the ERA Steering Group Human Resources and Mobility (ERA SGHRM). The IDTP have then been approved by the EU-Council for Education.2
