First Capital Connect, Network Rail and Solarcentury have been celebrating the opening of the world's largest solar bridge at Blackfriars station.The 4,400 photovoltaic panels cover the roof of the station and the Blackfriars bridge and can produce half the energy required by the station.
Estimates suggest that the use of the new bridge will cut the station's CO2 emissions by around 511 tonnes every year, which equates to around 90,000 car journeys of average length
