Visit of a Delegation of the Canadian Province of New Brunswick at IFSTTAR Nantes centre

A delegation from the Province of New Brunswick in Canada visiting France on the occasion of the European Days on Composites (JEC, Paris Porte de Versailles) visited the MACSI Laboratory that belongs to COSYS Department of IFSTTAR, Nantes Center. The Delegation was composed of R. Audoux from the French Chamber of Commerce in Canada - Atlantic Network, E. Dugas from The tank shop Company, M. Guitton from Versa Tech Consulting, R. Arsenault from The Composite Cluster NB, A. Bélanger from Corruven Company, B. Morin from Thermopak Company, L. Lebouthillier from ACOA New Brunswick Agency, Y. Jaoued from the University of Moncton, L. Lanteigne from Community College of New Brunswick, H. Doan and J. Ludovice from Nova Scotia Business Inc. and J. Balcomb from the Office of Economic Development of New Brunswick .
M. DRISSI - Habti, Research Professor of IFSTTAR and Director of GIS DURSI made a presentation in which he has first of all highlighted the history of IFSTTAR and COSYS Department. He then introduced few examples of research topics being developed on smart composite materials within GIS DURSI (the Scientific Consortium working on the durability of structures in intelligent composite materials, grouping IFSTTAR, The University of Rennes1, ENSAM-ANGERS and The University of South-Brittany).
At the end of the presentation, the Canadian delegation then visited the composite demonstrator DECID2 (National Project 2008 - 2012) where the visitors learned about the technological innovations of this achievement and expressed their wish to set-up of similar research projects in collaboration with the GIS DURSI.
