EU agrees to cut emissions from new cars by 37 percent by 2030

The announcement comes two days after the end of the COP24 summit in Poland where one of the largest disappointments for countries of all wealths and sizes was the lack of ambition to reduce emissions shown in the final text.
Emissions from new vans will have to be 31 percent lower than in 2021, according to Monday's agreement.

Dans sa déclaration, le gouvernement polonais propose de faire de la mobilité électrique une thématique de discussion permanente lors des Conférences des Parties et de créer un réseau, le « Katowice Partnership for e-mobility ». Ce réseau regroupera les différents partenariats internationaux qui travaillent à faire avancer la mobilité électrique, incluant les villes, les gouvernements nationaux et infranationaux ainsi que les organisations non gouvernementales, afin de favoriser le partage de leurs connaissances dans ce domaine et d'accélérer la transition vers la mobilité électrique au niveau local et international. Ses membres se réuniront au moins une fois par année.
