"We have projects in cutting-edge technology, automated transport, traffic engineering, advanced IT for autonomous vehicles, accident prevention and risk mitigation. Among our research topics is the 5th generation road (R5G) featuring communication and energy exchange between infrastructure, vehicles and the operator. Among our new facilities, I would mention the one which will be used under the auspices of Sense-City, a 400 sqm climate-controlled arena weighing 200 tonnes. It will allow us to test an urban space fitted with physical, chemical, optical, mechanical and biological micro or nanosensors, submitting it to a range of bad weather conditions: extreme temperatures, rain, snow, sunlight, etc. and to an array of pollutants. With this, we will be able to better understand how a city functionsand therefore improve its functioning."
