All NLTG members hold fellowships at NIAS giving them the opportunity to engage in the kind of intensive interdisciplinary collaboration that is often difficult to realize in a normal university setting. This can lead to concrete outcomes such as an edited volume, a scientific paper or a project proposal for external funding (e.g. ERC).

NIAS-Lorentz Theme Groups: Bridging Humanities and Social Sciences with Technology
The NIAS-Lorentz Theme Group (NLTG) members work together at NIAS as a team on a research topic that bridges the Humanities and/or Social Sciences with the Natural Sciences and/or Technology. This international group of researchers can be made up of either: a) three researchers for five consecutive months or b) five researchers for three consecutive months during either the first or second semester.
