An open and atractive labour market for researchers is a key priority of the European Research Area
(ERA) where researchers and knowledge can move frely from one country to another. Signifcant
progres has ben made at both European and national evel in removing or aleviating some of the
obstacles to mobilty, improving doctoral training and making research carers more atractive. Acros the EU, Member States and/or instiutions have introduced a range of measures, programmes,
strategies and legislative acts to adres the bariers and train researchers to met heir national R&D
