The UK has the lowest proportion of women in engineering in Europe (less than 10%). And Britain currently has an annual shortfall of 55,000 people with engineering skills. Attracting girls into science-based industries is essential to reduce the skills gap in science, technology, engineering and maths and improve career options for today’s students.

As part of Pretty Curious we’ve teamed up with inspirational female role models who help to show that being curious about the world around you can open up a wealth of career opportunities. Each has uniquely combined creative, entrepreneurial and collaborative attributes with science, technology, engineering and maths skills to create the careers of their dreams.
